Whilst looking at methods to create trees and leaves I needed to swap out a single mesh for a number of new meshes to create more variation. I put together a very simple Maxscript to help me do this and thought I’d share it here. It simply swaps the base mesh of a single or large number of target objects from a list of source objects. Very simple but fairly useful. As it’s swapping the base mesh rather than the actual object any properties or modifiers you have on your targets should remain.
You can download the script here.
